So last night I got to thinking
young readers hating piggy and finding him useless is really close to lord of the flies’ original point on him, really
piggy is easily the most competent and reasonable of the kids, but he’s deemed useless by them and mocked for his appearance and lack of charisma
to see the readers jump on that boat right along with the kids really shows how warped society’s definition of “useful” and “good” is even better than any of the hints in the book could’ve

honestly the only time I think I’d ever dislike getting a ton of notes on something would be if it was one of those unfortunate “everyone reblogs it for someone else’s comment” situations
I like getting a ton of notifications, it makes me feel special and happy
imagine having a really big spider as a pet that didnt bite or jump or do anything scary just like a two foot long spider that just sits there and follows you around like a puppy and speaks english and when it talks it has a really deep voice and talks in a really agressive voice and rarely speaks when it speaks it only says helpful things like “yo man theres balloons on sale in the next aisle for like 90% off” in its deep spider voice and its just like a really chill spider overall
